Today is….sigh….our last day in Italy as tomorrow we will be flying from Rome to Edmonton.
We arrived in Rome yesterday via the Eurostar. We have discovered a very nice B&B (http://www.suitespiazzadelpopolo.com) just outside the historic centre of Rome. The B&B was at one time a three bedroom condo which is converted into a very charming three room bed and breakfast. The wife of the owner has painted amazing frescoes on the walls, complete with very realistic looking romanesque architecture.
Our romantic stroll through Rome last night turned into a puddle jumping, rain soaked…find the nearest pizza, suppli’ and wine merchant walk/run so we could dine at “home” and dry out ![]()
Today, our last day promised to be more of the same (rain) but Luigi put out signals to someone higher up and the rain only came at convenient times…such as time for lunch…of osso bucco, wine and mozzarella buffalo…in a tiny restaurant near the Spanish Steps.
It has been an amazing four weeks in Italy…..with so many great memories (and so many pictures!)…it will be hard to say good-bye….but….ahhhhhh….a soft bed beckons!
